Bangchak Launches 'Don’t Waste Frying Station' to Promote SAF Production
On December 9, 2024, Mrs. Gloyta Nathalang inaugurated a workshop and officially launched the "Don’t Waste Frying Station," a collection and purchase point for used cooking oil established by Bangchak at Wat Bang Na Nai School (Ruen Sayamanon) in Bang Na District, Bangkok. The school director joined the opening ceremony, along with resource speakers from Bangchak Corporation and the Bai Mai Pun Suk Foundation, who provided knowledge on the management process of collecting used cooking oil through the "Don’t Waste Frying Station" at the school.
The training targeted students from grades 4 to 6, encouraging youth to care for the environment and take part in preserving the planet. They learned about critical topics such as global warming, the circular economy, and the production of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) from household-used cooking oil. The event included recreational activities to engage the students and inspire them to collect used cooking oil from their homes and nearby communities to bring to the "Don’t Waste Frying Station." The collected oil would then be sent to BSGF Company for SAF production, contributing to environmental benefits and generating supplemental income in 2024.
Bangchak Corporation and the foundation have already launched "Don’t Waste Frying Station" at four schools in Bangkok: Wat Lat Krabang School (Silapirat Uppatham), Phunsin School (Phetsuch Uppatham), Phong Ploy Anusorn School, and Wat Bang Na Nai School (Ruen Sayamanon). Plans for further expansion are underway.
